How to Use our Bath Tea

Add your tea mix to the included muslin tea bag. Secure the tea by tying the straps, and add the bag to your bathwater. Give the teabag some time so the salt can dissolve and for the ingredients to be displaced in the water… similar to how you would allow your tea to steep before drinking.

Alternatively, you can boil some water and add the tea bag, allowing the tea to steep for 20 minutes, then later add this water along with the tea bag to your bathwater. This way, you don’t have to worry about your bath water getting cold while you are waiting on the tea to steep.

You can also hang the bag under the water as you fill your bath.

If you would like to see the tea pieces in your bathwater, you can add them without the teabag. Note this method may be messy, so cleaning up will be a chore after your relaxing bath.

Once you are done enjoying your bath, rinse the tea bag and let it air dry.

The Power of Bath Teas

It’s easy to spend money at your favorite bath store on high-priced bath bombs and the like. Bath bombs are entertaining to watch, but they don’t provide the same benefits, and bath tea gives you the option of using more natural ingredients.

With your very own herbal bath tea, you can reap a variety of benefits, including pain reduction, improvement in skin tone and texture, and an overall reduction in inflammation. You will also find herbal tea baths to be very relaxing after a long day or week at work.

When you combine all of that with the soothing effects of hot water, you are in for a real treat. Just as you would benefit from drinking herbal tea, your body benefits from taking a bath in herbal tea as well.

7 Amazing Bath Tea Benefits

Badger Creek Bath Tea Collection

1. Ease Stress

We all need to find ways to manage our long-term stress. It is well known that stress can cause a plethora of health conditions because of the release of cortisol. Cortisol runs through the bloodstream, causing all kinds of problems in the body’s system.

By relieving stress, you lower your cortisol levels and decrease inflammation. When we reduce inflammation, we help the body to start its own natural healing process.

2. Increased Absorption

Heat helps to reduce muscle cramps and spasms that cause pain. When your bath tea goes into the hot water, your body is better able to absorb the ingredients, and so will benefit from them much more. The ideal temperature for pain management is 33 degrees Celsius or 92 degrees Fahrenheit.

3. Skin Detoxification

Our skin is the largest organ and serves as a barrier of protection from the outside world. In the same way it will absorb the ingredients of the healing herbs, it absorbs toxic chemicals from the environment. Over time, these toxins build up, and this can leave your skin acne-prone and primed for all kinds of skin ailments.

4. Wound Healing Promotion

Many herbs are known for their wound healing properties. If you have deep lacerations, you should see a doctor, but for minor abrasions and cuts, certain herbs can help with the healing process:

  • Yarrow is a popular yellow and white flower that is found along roadsides in Pennsylvania.
  • Goldenrod is a yellow flower known to ease inflammation and speed up healing. If you have seasonal allergies, this may pose a problem for you.
  • Coltsfoot is similar to comfrey in that this plant will help to heal your wounds by improving the way the damaged tissue knits itself together.

5. Fight Free Radicals and Sun Damage

All tea contains antioxidants, whether it’s green or black tea. Oxidative stress wreaks havoc on the body, speeding up aging, and affecting all our organs. They damage everything in their way, including our cellular DNA. A good bath tea soak will help to eradicate free radicals and prevent damage caused by prolonged exposure to the sun.

6. Decrease Psoriasis Symptoms

This autoimmune disease is characterized by itchy red scales that erupt on the skin. But there are natural herbs found in bath teas that can provide relief from symptoms.

7. General Inflammation Reduction

Inflammation is our body’s response to invaders. This is done to protect your body from further injury, but too much inflammation or ongoing inflammation is a problem. Long-term inflammation is implicated with every single disease known to man. Soaking in a bath with turmeric and black pepper can help reduce inflammation in your body significantly.

Other Benefits of Bath Tea

  • Heals sores
  • Detoxes skin
  • Delays the aging of the skin
  • Promotes the rejuvenation of skin
  • Soothes skin while balancing skin tone
  • Gets rid of free radicals
  • Reduces inflammation
  • Moisturizes skin
  • Treats body acne the natural way
