🍀 A Little St. Patrick’s Day Fun

March also means St. Patrick’s Day — a holiday Kegan and I always enjoy. Green treats, festive food, and a little playful mischief are all part of the fun. And because no celebration is complete without something warm from the oven, here’s a simple Irish Soda Bread recipe we love making this time of year.

Irish Soda Bread (Simple + Delicious)

Ingredients

• 4 cups flour
• 2 teaspoons Baking Soda
• Optional 2 tbs of sugar and/or ½ cup raisins
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 3/4 cups buttermilk (Tip: You can sour whole milk with 1 tbsp vinegar if you don’t have buttermilk.)

Directions

• Preheat oven to 400°F and lightly grease a cookie sheet.
• Mix flour, baking soda, salt, and any optional add‑ins.
• Stir in buttermilk until a slightly sticky dough forms.
• Shape into 2–4 small round loaves.
• Cut a shallow “X” on top of each loaf.
• Bake 15–20 minutes, or until lightly golden.
• Add herbs if you’re feeling creative!
